Two hundred million years ago, fragments of shell and coral settled layer upon layer on the floor of a shallow sea. Patiently, the limestone built up its strata.

Beneath the Earth’s crust, heat and pressure rewrote the limestone. Calcite crystallized, and veins settled into the stone like a signature.
In our quarries in the Taurus Mountains and the Marmara region, we read the direction of the veins. Every cutting decision respects an order millions of years in the making.
Every block that is extracted is numbered. The bookmatch plan takes shape at this stage — this is where it’s decided which slab will sit beside which.
On multi-wire saws, the block is divided into slabs with millimetric precision. The pattern hidden inside the stone sees the light for the first time.
Polished, honed, antiqued or brushed. The same stone takes on an entirely different character with each touch; the choice is guided by the light of the project.
And the stone settles into its space. On a lobby floor, a countertop, a façade — what remains at the journey’s end is a lasting surface.
